Plans to redevelop the Chandler House, a 19th century mansion at the northwest corner of Beech and Walnut streets in Manchester, as a social club received strong support during a public hearing held Wednesday by the city’s Planning Board.

Michael Pedler of Chandler House Holdings LLC has submitted plans to operate the site as a “contemporary and beautifully designed social club” as the primary use, with secondary uses including a boutique hotel, an artist-in-residence on the upper floors and a spa in the basement level.
