An 18-year-old is facing felony charges after he allegedly waved a gun at a motorist in a situation that led to a lockdown at a suburban Mariano’s.
According to La Grange police, the incident was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police were informed that an individual had waved a gun at a motorist during a dispute and they believed he had fled into a Mariano’s location in Western Springs.
The store was temporarily locked down because of the incident, with shoppers not allowed to enter the premises as police searched the store.
It was later determined that the incident had occurred in nearby La Grange, and an investigation into the incident was launched.
Ultimately, 18-year-old Riverside resident Ricardo Rivera was taken into custody by police in connection with the incident.
