The Cougars officially debuted this month with a dominating 64-7 win over the GTA Grizzlies, marking the city’s first foray into the CJFL. Aligned with Sault College and modeled after the successful partnership between the St. Clair Saints and St. Clair College in Windsor, the Cougars aim to establish themselves as a serious presence in the Ontario Football Conference (OFC). The team is coached by two-time Vanier Cup champion Paul Orazietti, whose resume includes a four-year stint as head coach and offensive coordinator with the Victoria Rebels in the CJFL’s British Columbia Football Conference.
