MARSHALL, Ark. (KY3) - The Arkansas Board of Election Commissioners held a hearing to determine if three Searcy County election commissioners broke the law during the 2024 election.
Searcy County used paper ballots to promote transparency. The county was the only one to do so. The commissioners brought in video equipment to livestream the hand count. They say the gear was rented for $100. However, a complaint claimed it was a gift or donation, which would be illegal. The board questioned whether that rental price was too low for the equipment used.
Another issue that resulted in a letter of reprimand was the failure to post the names of election officials eight days prior to the election.
