The suspect who allegedly ambushed two Pennsylvania state troopers in a shooting Thursday afternoon has died, officials confirmed.

Police say the male suspect was armed with a rifle and was shot and killed after refusing to comply with police commands during an incident that left two Pennsylvania state troopers wounded. Officials confirm there is no remaining threat to the public.

Rep. Dan Meuser also confirmed on X that the suspect had been apprehended.

"Latest update from Susquehanna County: I’ve received word that, to the best of my knowledge, both troopers who were wounded are okay and are recovering," Meuser wrote.
