A Columbus man was sentenced to a 22-year prison term Thursday for his role in a shooting last year that killed a North Toledo man and wounded one of his children.

While he did not fire any shots himself, Marquis Brent, 28, drove Ontrionis Armour, 24, to the 300 block of East Lake Street during the wee hours of June 13, 2024, where Armour killed Joshua Davis, 44, and critically wounded Mr. Davis’ 11-year-old daughter.

Noting a video clip from after his arrest in which the gunman tearfully stated that he had just thrown his life away, Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros said, “there are just too many people in this community going to pull the trigger,” and not only shooting someone, but ruining their own lives.
