The Toledo Walleye announced a pair of moves related to their coaching staff on Thursday. Longtime assistant coach Brent Bain is being promoted to associate head coach, while the team is adding former Walleye defenseman Chaz Reddekopp as assistant coach for the upcoming season.
“Brent is an exceptional coach with a deep knowledge of the game and player development. This promotion is well deserved, and I look forward to working with him in this new role,” Toledo head coach Pat Mikesch said of Bain.
The Toledo native has been with the Walleye since 2017. He was the team’s video coach from 2017-21, before being promoted to assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. Bain served two years as a varsity assistant coach for St. John’s Jesuit prior to making the jump to the Walleye.
