The London Knights have added an American forward to their overage mix.
The defending Memorial Cup champions have signed 20-year-old free agent Kaeden Hawkins to an Ontario Hockey League scholarship and development agreement. The St. Louis native led the United States Hockey League’s Waterloo Blackhawks with 45 points and was second on the team with 21 goals in 58 games.
The six-foot, 185-pound forward added eight goals and 12 points in 15 playoff games. Hawkins previously spent three seasons as a productive offensive player with the Shattuck St. Mary’s prep program in Faribault, Minn.
The Knights will graduate several potential over-age candidates to pro hockey this fall, while Blake Montgomery is expected to suit up for the University of Wisconsin. London will use one of its three 2
