GREENSBORO, N.C. — Sticker shock just got worse.

President Trump’s latest wave of tariffs slaps higher taxes on goods imported from more than 60 countries. For Triad businesses, the impact is already being felt — especially in small, locally-owned stores.

Some of the hardest-hit products? Wine, beer, specialty groceries, and ingredients many businesses rely on daily.

At Bestway Grocery in Greensboro, shelves are stocked — but it’s getting harder to keep it that way.

“Imported wine has become way more expensive,” one manager told WFMY News 2. “And Canadian and English beers? We just can’t get them right now.”

Across the Triad at the Wet Whistle Company in Archdale, the same story.
