Customers will find plenty of gourmet and organic grocery items at the new, 20,000-square-foot Esh’s grocery store in Windsor at 443 Pointe Plaza Drive.

Co-owner Reuben Esh said Wednesday that Esh’s is known for offering gourmet and organic items at lower prices than its competitors. Customers come from miles around, and some carpool, to take advantage of those savings, Esh said. Wife Martha Esh is the co-owner of the family-run store, which has about 45 employees, he said.

The grocery outlet concept is not new, but it’s unique to the area, Esh said. And competition is good, he added.

“We’re a niche grocer. We try to keep … the majority of our items 50% less than a conventional grocery store,” Esh said. “I know King Soopers is coming across the street in Windsor, and I like that. Savvy
