L.A. County Fire

The Canyon Fire burning just southeast of Lake Piru Thursday afternoon prompted evacuation warnings for the Hasley Canyon and Hathaway Ranch communities near the L.A. and Ventura county line.

The fire, which started north of Highway 126, had burned at least 410 acres by 3 p.m. and was 0% contained, according to Cal Fire officials. The fire is burning rapidly and threatening nearby power lines.

Temperatures are in the high 90s with wind gusts reaching as high as 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Evacuation warnings are in place for Hasley Canyon, Oak Canyon, Romero and Val Verde.
