KELLER, Texas — After a costly split with its former superintendent, the Keller Independent School District has a new leader, and he stands to make a pretty penny.
The district named Dr. Cory Wilson as its new superintendent on July 24, 2025, months after former superintendent Tracy Johnson resigned amid heated debate over a proposal to split the district in two .
As of now, Johnson remains on the payroll, earning her $275,000 salary and benefits through Dec. 31, per our content partners at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram . That report also states that Johnson received $124,400 for unused sick leave and vacation, and an agreed-upon lump-sum payment of $49,105.
Combined with other benefits, the district will have paid Johnson $466,205 in 2025.
