LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Little Rock School District (LRSD) reached a major sustainability milestone today, becoming the home of Arkansas’ largest electric school bus fleet.

In a ceremony celebrating innovation and environmental progress, LRSD officially introduced 25 fully electric school buses, all funded through a $10 million grant from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean School Bus Program.

Superintendent Dr. Jermall Wright called the rollout more than just a transportation upgrade.

"Today we're not just unveiling new vehicles — we're unveiling a new chapter in how we serve our students," Wright said. "These buses represent our investment in the health and safety of the young people we are privileged to serve every single day."
