Republic Services is set to take over family business Tri-County Disposal, which has served the Helena area’s trash hauling for over 30 years.

“We look forward to welcoming Tri-County Disposal customers to Republic Services and will be in touch regarding service,” a media representative for Republic Services told the Independent Record.

Tri-County offers private garbage and waste collection services, including in Helena’s and East Helena’s city limits. It also operates Valleyview Landfill.

Tri-County's hauling permit allowed it to collect waste within 35 miles of Helena limits. In 2021 it had 8,627 residential, 809 commercial and 924 landfill customers.
