EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) - Brent Jackson, a leadership member with the Presidents Neighborhood Association says he believes rising energy bills are forcing people to leave the River City, and says CenterPoint Energy is to blame. "When you have low-income cities like us with high energy bills," says Jackson, "it's not sustainable."

Jackson says residents in his neighborhood have faced energy shut-offs, unable to afford high bills, and believes the current billing cycle may force others to see the same fate this Fall. "I think here in just a couple months that we will see some of our neighbors in that same situation," says Jackson. "It is very disconcerting to see neighbors in that kind of position because it affects other neighbors, too."
