MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - The AMC Theater in Marion will permanently close its doors on Thursday.

The theater is the last theater operating in Williamson County.

The AMC Illinois Center 8 Theater has been entertaining movie-goers since December 1993.

Brittany Willis has been visiting the theater since she was a child, and even worked at the theater in high school, “It was a frenzy. Lines out the door.”

“It was throughout high school all of college. Met great people. I got to form great friendships. Worked midnight shows from Harry Potter to all the Twilights,” Willis continued.
