The Marion Berries, Salem’s new summer collegiate baseball team, gave fans something to boast about after advancing to the West Coast League playoffs starting tomorrow.

The Berries will play their first playoff game Friday, facing off against the Portland Pickles at home at the Chemeketa Baseball Field at 4000 Lancaster Dr. N.E. The game will start at 6:35 p.m.

Tickets start at $9, and the first 500 fans in attendance will get a free Marion Berries towel.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online here.

The Berries’ first season saw the team come out on top with 28 wins to 26 losses .

The playoffs will consist of eight qualifying teams, four from each division.

The Berries will have to beat the Pickles twice to advance to the semifinals against either Bend or Cor
