DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. —

The race for Douglas County Attorney is growing.

Amy Jacobsen announced her campaign on Thursday.

She said she's ready to fight for common sense and make fair decisions.

The Democrat has spent the past 13 years serving as deputy Douglas County attorney.

Jacobsen said she was fired by Republican incumbent Don Kleine after informing him of her intent to seek office.

Kleine, who is also running , has been in the role since 2007.
