The Colorado Springs Police Department's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit was called to a traffic stop Thursday morning after an incendiary device was found.

The Police Department said its EOD unit investigated and took possession of the device. The department would not give more specifics about the device.

The driver of the vehicle, Anthony Lopez, was taken into custody near North Carefree Circle and South Hammond Drive for having the device and several traffic violations, including the lack of a valid Colorado driver's license, according to police.
