Calgary police have charged a man following a break-and-enter in the southeast community of Erin Woods last week.

Police say a man entered a home and assaulted a female resident in the 0 to 100 block of Erin Woods Boulevard S.E. at around 1:10 p.m. on July 30.

An alleged physical altercation then took place between the suspect and a second resident, a male victim, CPS said in a news release.

Nearby residents who witnessed the incident contacted police.

One man was taken into custody at the scene.

Benjamin Ronald Lane Johnson, 30, has been charged with one count of break-and-enter with intent to commit assault. He is set to appear in court on Aug. 29.
