After narrowing his list to ten powerhouse programs, Veterans Memorial basketball star Billy White III, a four-star prospect, has made his choice.

White, one of the nation's top basketball prospects, is reclassifying to the class of 2025, foregoing his senior year at Vets to sign with SMU.

White made his announcement publicly in front of family, friends and coaches on Thursday at the Veterans Memorial Gymnasium.

White had nearly 20 Division I offers before narrowing his choices to Texas A&M, SMU, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Stanford, TCU and Maryland prior to his decision to join the Mustangs' program.

White is coming off a historic junior season after leading Veterans Memorial to a 39-1 record in 2024-25 and a Class 5A Division I state semifinal appearance.
