GRIMES, Iowa —

A man has been charged after an investigation into child endangerment in Grimes.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says a call was made at around 3:40 a.m. Thursday regarding a 2-month-old child that was not breathing. Deputies responded to the call in the 600 block of NE Jacob Street in Grimes.

The child was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries. As of 7 p.m., the infant remains in serious condition and on life support.

Dylan James Brown has been arrested and is charged with one count of felony child endangerment one count of felony domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow and two counts of felony willful injury causing serious injury.
