The Army awarded six soldiers for their acts of heroism at Fort Stewart during a shooting at the base. Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll said one of the soldiers tackled the alleged shooter, a U.S. Army Sergeant. "The fast action of these soldiers, under stress and under trauma and under fire, absolutely saved lives from being lost," Driscoll said, praising the soldiers for their "heroism."
