The Chino Valley school board will appoint a new member in the next two months to replace Jonathan Monroe, who has resigned.
At a special meeting Tuesday, Aug. 5, the Chino Valley Unified School District board voted 4-0 to choose someone to fill the Trustee Area 4 seat by a temporary appointment. The board also considered a special election.
Monroe’s resignation takes effect Friday, Aug. 15. He and his family are planning to leave the state so Monroe can take a new job, he said.
In a Thursday, Aug. 7, interview, Monroe said his teaching position in the West Covina Unified School District had been dissolved and that a new job brought him to Utah. He and his wife also are using the opportunity to move closer to their four children and five grandchildren.
