Fighting for his life and his livelihood, Family Farms owner Robert Hoover went before a judge Thursday in hopes of getting his animals back.
They were taken when Davie Police arrested him on animal cruelty charges last month, and Family Farms closed its doors.
"There’s no truth behind any allegations concerning that there’s a negligence on our part," Hoover said. "The problem is there’s misinformation, and we are trying to clarify the misinformation."
Davie Police said several people in the community made complaints claiming the animals weren’t properly cared for.
The complaints ranged from animals allegedly being kept in muddy enclosures, not having sufficient food or water, and skinny cows.
Hoover and his attorney say the allegations are false .
