HERRIN, Ill. (KFVS) - The Herrin City Library will host a walking tour of some of the city’s well-known and not-so-well-known ghosts and apparitions.
Groups will walk to various locations and hear “ghost stories” of Herrin’s history. The “ghosts” will include Pioneer Isaac Herring, Gangster Charlie Birger, Moonshiner Dolly York, Professional Baseball Player Ray Chapman, and others.
The tours will be available on October 17 and 18, and will meet in the area of 14th Street near the Coal Miners’ Memorial. On Friday, the tour will start at 7 p.m. and will start at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Tickets for the event are $10 and are available at the library(120 N. 13th Street in Herrin) or at the library website .
