EAST GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks woman died in a crash near East Grand Forks in Polk County on Thursday, Aug. 7.

According to the Minnesota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 9 a.m. on Highway 2 at the intersection with County Road 17, east of East Grand Forks.

The woman's Chevrolet Equinox was on County Road 17 when it collided with a 2013 Peterbilt semi tractor trailer that was on Highway 2.

The driver of the truck, 27-year-old Tyler James Shaver, of Red Lake Falls, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The name of the woman, age 67, was not released Thursday.
