She becomes the first Canadian woman to win the tournament since Bianca Andreescu in 2019.
Along the way, she knocked out Sofia Kenin, Coco Gauff, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and Elena Rybakina in a fearless charge to her first WTA final.
Against Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion representing Japan, Mboko had the home crowd firmly behind her.
