Asijah Love Jones was described as “warm-hearted” with a “loving and sweet spirit,” according to the Georgia girl’s family.

It’s been over two years since a stray bullet struck the 11-year-old as she slept beside her sister at their family’s apartment in Griffin. Now, the man accused of firing the fatal shot is headed to prison , prosecutors said.

Kionta Parks, 23, was given a life sentence Tuesday, Aug. 5, after pleading guilty to felony murder, aggravated assault and other charges in the 2023 shooting, according to Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr’s office.
