HOUSTON — Charges have been filed against a man accused of shooting a woman at a southwest Houston apartment complex early Wednesday morning.

Ismael Holguin, 35, was arrested after a police chase, according to the Houston Police Department.

Homicide detectives said he shot his 32-year-old wife around 3:16 a.m. on Wild Indigo Street, east of the 610 West Loop.

The woman, whose name hasn't been released, was rushed to the hospital but didn't survive.

Police said Holguin fled the scene but was arrested near North Eldridge Parkway and the Katy Freeway in west Houston after a chase.

He's been charged with murder and evading arrest.

The motive for the killing isn't known.
