CHEYENNE — The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority is offering money from its Capital Improvement Grant (CIG) programs to owners of downtown properties that were damaged during the Aug. 1 storm.

Executive Director Sophia Maes said this is a grant program DDA has had for a while. The grant can be used for anything that’s public-facing or serves a public benefit, she said, such as windows, sidewalks, awnings and anything else that is in the public right of way.

According to the DDA website, funds are reimbursement-based, allocated annually and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

“It’s specifically tied to the property,” Maes said. “It’s something we’ve been doing for a while, and it’s just a tool that we have that property owners downtown can take advantage of.”
