ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - A former Anderson County deputy and school district employee is accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy.

Gregg Hayden, 48, appeared for his bond hearing Thursday afternoon where a judge set his bond at $100,000, with GPS monitoring.

Family members of the victim watched from the courtroom as Hayden appeared remotely from the detention center.

During the hearing, a family member of the victim gave an emotional statement.

"I just ask that the defendant, search in his heart and trust that he will do the right thing for a child that has never had anyone do right for him. This child still believes he is a good and honorable man. And so do I."

Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride said the investigation began on July 30 when a woman called 911.
