SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Historical records for famous people are stored in Missouri at the St. Louis National Archives .
It’s known as the “ Persons of Exceptional Prominence ” list. The list includes documents from Humphrey Bogart and Amelia Earhart to James Stewart. The archives hold military and civilian federal employee personnel records.
Those records include documents from Earhart’s Distinguished Flying Cross Award Card to Jackie Robinson’s General Court Martial.
“He did not move to the back of the bus while he was serving,” explained the Director of Personnel Records at the Archives in St. Louis, Theresa Fitzgerald. “And so he was court-martialed for it and was found not guilty, but his testimony of the day’s events is on our highlights page and you can read the entire c
