BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The family of Larry Mariott, a home builder who has crafted thousands of homes in the Brazos Valley, is lending a hand in the fight against cancer.

Larry Mariott passed away last year after a battle with pancreatic cancer. On Thursday, his family honored his memory by launching the Mariott Foundation. Its goal is to support those on their cancer journey.

Its first fundraiser was held the same day as its launch, with the proceeds going towards BCS Fights Cancer , a local nonprofit that financially supports cancer patients in the area.

Bridget Mariott, Larry’s Daughter-in-Law, said that during Larry’s treatment process, he realized many people with cancer needed help.
