HELENA — One of Montana’s fiercest football rivalries kicks off 2025 Frontier Conference play in exactly three weeks when Montana Western and Montana Tech clash.
Separated by roughly 60 miles, but by newly-formed seven-team Frontier divisions , that contest will be nonconference, but perhaps a preview of which program holds early-season superiority.
Thursday, Frontier West Division head coaches accepted the opportunity to discuss strengths of teams they will lead into 2025 battle. Western, Carroll College, Arizona Christian, College of Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Simpson University, and Southern Oregon comprise the seven-team division.
A preseason Frontier coaches’ poll will be released Monday, Aug. 18, one week before the NAIA’s top-25.
