WELLINGTON, Texas (KFDA) - Wellington Skyrockets football is ready to hit the field and defend their district championship in 2025.

The Skyrockets have not a losing regular season record since 2006.

When you have a solid program year in and year out, fans often expect you to win.

Senior Noah Cantu knows that for his last ride, the expectations are no different.

“I’m hoping just to be the best that I can be and lead this team to where we need to go,” Cantu says. “The town expects a state championship, that’s the goal here... it’s about tradition and winning playoff games.”

The Skyrockets lost some talent last year with seniors graduating, but head coach Greg Proffitt and his guys are looking to reload and make another playoff push this season.
