AUSTIN, Texas — Students at the University of Texas at Austin are hitting a critical deadline as the new semester is set to begin at the end of the month.

Tuition for undergraduate students to confirm their attendance is due on Aug. 14. However, for students who are undocumented, the bill will be priced higher due to the end of the state's DREAM Act.

Eligible students were allowed to pay in-state tuition under the legislation, but the Department of Justice challenged the constitutionally of it and filed a lawsuit earlier this year.

Currently, the minimum tuition for in-state residents is $1,500, while the price sits at $5,000 for out-of-state residents.
