BUFFALO, N.Y. — Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon didn't mince words on Wednesday when he expressed frustration with Comptroller Barbara Miller-Williams.

"I want to be very clear about something," Scanlon said. "This is not about availability of funding. This is not about Project readiness. This is about inaction, an action that is unacceptable to the progress our city desperately needs."

Scanlon was referring to the inaction by the comptroller of not issuing $26.5 million in bond anticipation notes (BANS) for a variety of projects city departments.

"Each day inaction costs us," Scanlon said. "It costs jobs, it costs us the improvements upon projects throughout the city of Buffalo, and it add adds costs to the projects that are in line."
