KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame will host a special event on Friday to raise money for Alzheimer's research while honoring the indelible legacy of Pat Summitt.

The Take a Shot to END Alzheimer's event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8 as part of Knoxville's Paint the Town Purple initiative. The weeklong campaign has been promoting community engagement and support of the Alzheimer's Association's largest annual fundraiser, Walk to End Alzheimer's.

The 2025 Knoxville Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place on Saturday, September 20 at Zoo Knoxville. The goal for this year's event is to raise $225,000 for Alzheimer's care, support and research.
