A charity in Coventry is hoping to provide free school uniforms to around 3,000 children whose families can't afford them this summer. Clothing Coventry, based on Napier Street in Hillfields , helps people in the city with donations of second-hand clothes and shoes.

The charity runs an annual school uniform pop-up bank to help families who can't afford to buy brand-new uniforms ahead of the new school year . The uniforms are either donated or bought using the funds.

The charity's school uniform co-ordinator, Faye Spicer, says that more people are struggling to buy uniform due to the current economic crisis.

She told BBC CWR: "It's not just people who are on benefits, it's not just people who are struggling. The cost of living is hitting everybody hard.
