CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- The intensity turned up a little bit for Illinois football as they had their first practice in pads Thursday night.

Heading into the 2025 season the big question is what will the wide receivers look like for Illinois.

The Illini loss star receivers Pat Bryant and Zakarhi Franklin, who accounted for 14 of Luke Altmyers 22 touchdown passes.

This year they have a mix of returns looking for more playing time and new guys in transfers and freshman.

Altmyer said they are using fall camp to work through some new challenges and learning all the new skill sets.

And is excited to see what this group of receivers will be able to do out on the field week one.
