TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Backed by a gutsy, 124-pitch effort from starter Stephen Still, the Tri-City ValleyCats managed to eek out a 5-4 win over the New Jersey Jackals Thursday night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. With the victory, Tri-City claimed its third series sweep since returning from the Frontier League All-Star break on July 18, and are 13-4 during that stretch.
After scoring a combined 31 runs in the first two games of the series, the ValleyCats offense cooled off a bit, but provided just enough support for Still, who chewed up 7.2 innings on the mound - his longest professional start.
