ST GEORGE, Utah (ABC4) — Since 2024, St. George's extensive trail system has used electronic counters in multiple locations to determine how many people use those trails.

St. George is home to over 75 miles of trail networks across the city. In an effort to determine usage and allocate resources, twelve key locations have electronic counters that read how often those trails are used.

The electronic counters have been installed along the Virgin River Trail network, the Santa Clara River Trail, and at various underpasses near Utah Tech University and Bluff Street, all of which reportedly see a large amount of traffic.
