The intersection of West Alameda and Guadalupe streets is scheduled to be closed from Monday through Thursday for one of the last steps in the long-running Guadalupe Street construction project.

The project is currently scheduled for substantial completion during the first week of September, city Capital Projects Manager Romella Glorioso-Moss said Thursday: "We're seeing the end of the tunnel, as they say."

The intersection, which is being closed for upgrades to the pavement and the installation of a new traffic signal, will be the last long closure of the project. There will be brief closures later on for final asphalt paving and road restriping, she said.
