Mushroom murderer 'tried to poison husband with cookies'
Erin Patterson, the Australian woman convicted of triple murder, is alleged to have made multiple attempts to poison her husband, including with cookies she claimed were baked by their daughter, a court has heard. Last month Patterson was found guilty of murdering three family members and attempting to kill another using a beef Wellington dish laced with toxic mushrooms.
The 50 year old had initially faced three counts of attempted murder against her estranged husband, Simon Patterson, but these charges were dropped shortly before her trial. The specifics of the allegations, which Patterson denied, were suppressed to safeguard the proceedings, but can now be disclosed for the first time, reports the BBC .
