How many people use the Shining Sea Bikeway in Falmouth? Thousands of people do. It is used every day of the year. In the summer, thousands of tourists use the trail, too. People who use the trail get lots of exercise and pleasure. They become happier, healthier and more likely to love living or vacationing in Massachusetts on Cape Cod.

The same thing is true of the recreational trail on the Cape side of the canal, although it is not used by quite so many people. If a connector trail were constructed between the bikeway and the canal trail, then a wonderful bike path would run from Woods Hole all the way to Sandwich. Residents and visitors to the Cape would love it, love its scenery and love the healthful benefits of long rides.
