The one big thing: One of the biggest schematic changes in the Steelers offense this season might be how much Arthur Smith’s unit passes down the middle of the field with success. That wasn’t the case in 2024, as Sports Information Systems charted the Steelers to have the second-fewest passing attempts and completions and third-fewest passing yards in the middle areas of the field.

That hasn’t been the case in recent training camp practices, when the Steelers offense has moved the ball more efficiently through the air and featured several successful throws from Aaron Rodgers over the middle of the field. Before the Steelers took the field for their 13th practice of training camp at Saint Vincent College, seventh-year receiver Scotty Miller noted how Rodgers looked in those situations.
