The scoop

Blatt is a most interesting story of a player who switched positions and his recruiting then took off. Blatt, who lives in the Canon-McMillan district, came to Central Catholic as a quarterback and switched to linebacker in 2023 but missed most of the season with a broken fibula. He was switched to defensive end last year, had an excellent season and drew the attention of many major colleges. Blatt had 13 tackles for loss and seven sacks last season.

College talk

Blatt made a verbal commitment to the North Carolina Tar Heels in mid-June. He also had offers from Pitt, Penn State, Duke, UCLA and Indiana, among others. Blatt is only the seventh player from the WPIAL since 2000 to choose
