HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University football team's defense sees improvement no matter what. Defensive coordinator Shannon Morrison said after Tuesday’s practice that even with mistakes, effort can raise the bar.
“We’re playing hard, and we’re playing fast. We have a lot of corrections to make,” Morrison said. “The big thing on defense is that, as long as we’re playing hard and playing fast, we can overcome some mistakes. I’ve been pleased with that aspect.”
There’s a benefit to playing against an offense like the one Marshall has – one that aims to control pace with dual-threat quarterbacks, power backs and explosive receivers.
Any style like it forces the opposing defense to fly.
