The South Dakota Commission on Gaming has issued a warning about fraudulent online casinos falsely claiming ties to licensed South Dakota gaming establishments.

"These unauthorized platforms use misleading advertisements, fake apps and cloned websites to deceive consumers, posing significant financial and personal security risks," the commission said in an Aug. 4 news release .

The commission said it has received reports of online advertisements and social media promotions that:

Imitate the logos and branding of well-known Deadwood and tribal casinos.

Offer unrealistic bonuses or promise guaranteed winnings.
